Each year, Larimer Humane Society receives hundreds of animals that need time to grow, time to recover from sickness or illness, or need socialization and behavioral training in order to be placed up for adoption. Fortunately, foster care volunteers are available to provide the love and nurturing these animals need to become healthy, adoptable pets. Volunteers save the lives of these special-needs animals and help alleviate over-crowding at the animal shelter.
Larimer Humane Society foster care volunteers provide an invaluable service that allows Larimer Humane Society to save hundreds of lives each year and we are always welcoming new volunteers to our program! If you're interested in becoming a foster volunteer, read the Frequently Asked Questions about the program below and attend a volunteer orientation to begin the process.
Because our foster care volunteers need to focus their volunteer time on the many homeless animals in our care, Larimer Humane Society does not foster owned animals. If you are no longer able to care for your pet and would like to surrender him/her to us, please give us a call at 970-226-3647 ext. 0.
