pdfAnimal Protection and Control Officer

Full Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly 

Larimer Humane Society is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Animal Protection and Control (APC) Officer. The Society’s APC positions are full-time, 40 hour per week, jobs responsible for enforcing State, County and City codes and ordinances governing animal control functions (e.g. field enforcement, licensing, animals at large, animal bite investigations, etc.) and includes animal handling and constraint. The position also performs the duties of an Animal Control Dispatcher.  Officers represent the organization in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This position requires learning a wide range of policies, procedures and processes quickly and includes a significant amount of field work and animal handling.  Requirements include a minimum of one year animal care, welfare and/or handling in a professional position.  Proven clerical and math skills required.  Must be able to read and interpret ordinances, prioritize duties and multi-task within a busy work environment.  Ability to relate information to the public and staff in a concise, clear manner required as is the ability to work in direct contact with aggressive, injured animals. Previous enforcement and/or dispatch experience desired.  Solid computer skills required and knowledge of Chameleon software helpful.  The work schedule is generally 4x10 or 5x8, subject to business need, and includes one weekend day.  Compensated on-call overnight shifts are required as are holiday shifts.  Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings. Living arrangements within 30 miles of the Shelter due to on-call duties. Please include days and hours of work availability in cover letter.

Hiring range starts at $12.65 per hour (non-certified), higher for certified, and is negotiable commensurate with applicable certifications/experience.

One regular full-time (40 hrs) and one part-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Representative (CSR).  Our CSRs represent the Organization in a professional and courteous manner and provide quality service at the Shelter’s front desk.  The job requires great customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.  Must be able to quickly learn and accurately use specialized software as well as learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedure.  Work includes processing animal adoptions, animal returns to owners and animal surrenders as well as physical animal handling and other duties.  The job includes both sedentary work when processing client information and physical work when handling animals.  Work shifts vary and generally include at least on weekend day.  Please include days and times of work availability, as well as start date availability, in cover letter.

pdfClient Services Supervisor, Animal Shelter
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Supervisor.  Our Client Services Supervisors are responsible for the operations of the Service Desk, during a particular shift, ensuring clients receive consistent and high quality services.  Services include animal adoptions, intakes, returns and more.  This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, working supervisor position.  Incumbents participate in our Shelter Team and Supervisor/Manager meetings and are engaged in reviewing work flow and suggesting and implementing improvements.  Requirements include two years of customer service experience plus one year of proven staff supervisory experience, preferably in an animal related industry, or six months of Larimer Humane Society CSR lead experience.  This position includes daily interaction with animals in our care in addition to service to clients.  The schedule for this position will include at least one weekend day.  Overtime required as needed.  Please include start date availability, days and times of work availability and pay rate requirements in cover letter.  Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance.

pdfDevelopment Associate I, Fund Raising

Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for a Development Associate I position for our fund-raising team.  Development Associates at Larimer Humane Society maintain the Organization’s donor database, process and acknowledge donor contributions, oversee the recurring gift program, prepare reports, assist with special events and provide additional support to the Development (fund raising) department.  Priorities for the Development Associate I position are gift entry and acknowledgement duties including processing donor contributions, tracking in-kind donations and maintaining related records, and drafting donor-centered letters.  Additional duties involve administering mailings, volunteer oversight, assisting with events as needed and overseeing development supplies.  The work involves a significant amount of data review, data entry and attention to detail.  Requirements include a four-year college degree or equivalent applicable experience; a minimum of two years proven experience and proficiency with MS Excel; one year project management experience; excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and more.  Animal welfare and Chameleon software experience are pluses.  Data management experience is helpful as is Raisers Edge and Wealth Engine software experience.  This is a predominately desk centered job with a general work schedule of Monday through Friday with some weekend and evening shifts as needed.  Please include days and hours of work availability, start date availability and salary requirements in cover letter.

Lead Client Services Representatives represent Larimer Humane Society in a professional and courteous manner at all times and provide quality client services and leadership at the Shelter’s front desk.  Requirements include six months of recent Larimer Humane Society CSR job experience, a working knowledge of a wide range of Society policies and procedures, the ability to consistently enter complete and accurate data into our computer system using specialized software and more.  Internal applicants must be meeting performance expectations.  Our Lead positions are chartered with assisting supervisors with staff and volunteer training, opening and closing duties and more.  This is a full time supervisory track position and includes a weekend shift.   

Minimum of $11.00 per hour.  Closes October 20, 2017.  

pdfVeterinary Assistant

Part-Time (20 – 25 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for a new part-time Veterinary Assistant position.  The Veterinary Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support for the Veterinary Services Department.   Major responsibilities include restraining animals for procedures such as exams, intubation and venipuncture.  Assisting with prepping animals for surgery and monitoring vital signs of patients in preoperative, operative and postoperative periods.  The position will also be responsible for preparing the treatment area and surgical suite for patient anesthesia, surgical preparations and sterilization.  Assists with the care of the animals by cleaning cages, feeding and other tasks as necessary.  Administers vaccinations, medications, and other treatments as assigned and more.  Clerical tasks include maintaining accurate computer and paper records for medications and treatments, entering data into specialized database (Chameleon), running reports and more.  The positon requires a minimum of 3 months of applicable work experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter clinic or completion of a Veterinary Assistant certification or associate degree program.  Direct animal care experience is required as is solid computer skills.  This is a part time position with PTO (paid time off) accrual benefits.  Some weekend and holiday shifts will be required.  Please include days and hours of availability, start date availability and salary requirements in cover letter.

Part-Time (20 – 25 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for a part time Veterinary Technician.  Our Veterinary Technicians provide clinical and administrative support for the Shelter's Veterinary Services department.  Major responsibilities include assisting with the surgical program including induction and intubation of surgery patients; maintaining accurate records; performing basic animal assessment and triage; administering treatment and medications as needed; performing dental cleanings and more.  The position requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of previous work experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter clinic.  Surgical assistance and proficiency with intubation, IV catheter placement and IV injection techniques is also required.  This is a part time position with PTO (paid time off) accrual benefits.  The schedule is predominately weekday mornings with one weekend shift, and some holiday hours, required.  Please include days and hours of availability and salary requirements in cover letter.

Hiring range for certified Veterinary Technicians begins at $12.25 per hour and at $11.10 for non-certified technicians.  Rates may be negotiable commensurate with experience.
